The Farm Bill Passes $8 Billion in Cuts To Snap
We celebrate the improved access to farmer’s markets for lower income families under the new US Farm Bill, but have deep concerns about even further cuts being made to SNAP benefits. Eligible families already experienced a sharp reduction in food assistance in November. Now they’ll take another hit. We know SNAP works exactly like it should to support Kansans when they most need it and that it produces positive economic impacts for farmers and local businesses. Congress’ decision to cut SNAP is a step backwards for our entire state.
